Small economy cars. My Lada has a 12 gallon tank.

I have put 9.4/5 in metro like once or twice, sputtering out on corners on the way.
Thing is that the float in gas tank doesn't reach top, so 1/4 of tank is gone before it comes off F.
Every time I read Ford Fiesta I think
Then I have to correct myself, no one drives those anymore.

Ugh, jealous. Paid $3.29 for my last fill up. Beats being over $4 for sure!

Specifically 10 though. My metro also has 9.5-10 gallon tank. I think my 87 stanza had 12.

I paid 2.25 for gas yesterday. Came in just under $25.
Really crossing my fingers to see gas under $2 a gallon. I want $20 tanks of gas...

Pieces of shit make for the best first cars, don't put your first car on a pedestal and worship it. Get something that may kill you if you wreck it and tempt fate.

But I don't have a need that warrants premium. My car can function with 87. The higher octane would affect nothing but my wallet.

I know what the Corolla is and isn't, and I'm fine with it. To be honest, its not my first car, just the first car I bought with my own money (drove my parents Concorde LXi for a few years). I came to Texas from Florida to find a new job, I was on my own with nothing more than a backpack of my clothes. I needed a car and at the time was limited on cash. So my option was pretty limited. Based on what I know of cars at the time and what was available, I chose the Corolla. It may not be the best economy car in the world nor the prettiest, but it is one that would do anything you ask of it and come back asking for more. If I want to dance with fate, I have my bike for that.

Agreed. The Corolla does get a lot of hate, but when you look at it as an actual tool to get by in everyday life it fits right in. Sometimes that's all we need. That's actually why I bought the metro because it was just the next beater. I have actually put more miles on it than any other car I have owned ( 121K over 8 years)

Heh. I've been filling up at the end of every third day lately, with about a ~100 mile round-trip commute each day (and not too much driving outside of that). So... I'm getting about 300 miles with that much gas.

I just checked my gas app and it's $1.99 up the street from me for regular. As someone whose car gets 11 MPG highway this makes me happy.

In the 2 and a half years that I have own it, I put nearly 50k miles on it. I drove it up and down the Midwest to the Great Lakes (first road trip) and back and forth to Florida. Love the fact that it only cost $25 to fill up the tank. :D
